- App Uninstalling Cleanup Guide
Cleanup Guide After Uninstalling the App
When you uninstall the app, most data is removed automatically. However, custom data created using Shopify Metaobjects may remain in your store. You can manually remove it by following the steps below.
What You May Need to Remove
The app may have created:
- Custom metaobjects
- Definitions related to those metaobjects
These can be safely deleted if you are no longer using the app.
Step-by-Step Cleanup
1. Open Metaobjects in Shopify Admin
- Go to your Shopify Admin
- Navigate to: Settings → Metafields and metaobjects
2. Find metaobject definitions
Look for metaobject definitions created by the app. These are usually labeled with a name similar to:
- Checkoutboost.com Blocks Metaobject
- Checkoutboost.com App Info Metaobject Definition
3. Delete Metaobject definitions
- Click on the metaobject definition, then click the More actions button, select Delete metaobject, and confirm the deletion
Notes
- Deleting a metaobject definition will also remove all metaobjects associated with that definition. Since the app has already been uninstalled, it is safe to delete them.
- You will not see the More actions option to delete the metaobject definition until the app has been uninstalled.
Important Notes
- Deleting metaobjects is permanent and cannot be undone
- This cleanup is optional, but recommended to keep your store organized
- If you reinstall the app later, it may recreate the required data

If you're unsure which data to delete, contact support before removing anything.
If you want, I can tailor this with your exact metaobject names so merchants don’t get confused.
